We did it! Over $10,000.00 in popcorn sales!!!
The actual total is $10,190.00.
Here are some stats on the sales:
Below you will see what each scout averaged in each den and also the total that each den sold.
Den Average Total Sold
Tigers $439.83 $2639.00
Wolf $240.50 $ 962.00
Bear $391.57 $2741.00
Web I $261.00 $ 261.00
Web II $ 597.83 $3587.00
You will notice that even though the Bears sold more than the tigers, the tigers average per scout was higher. The Webelos II are the winners of the Pizza Party, they had the highest average per scout in their den. I will let the Webelos II know more about the party after our next committe meeting.
Our top 4 salesman were:
$2187.00 - Chris Webb
$1507.00 - Ethan Colbert
$1005.00 - Jacob Bergstedt
$757.00 - Trey Houmes
Chris, Ethan an Jacob will get to attend the Illini game which I
believe will be on Sunday Dec. 2nd at 2:00 pm. I will let you know more about that as soon as I find out. They also have a pizza party for the scouts before the game.
Chris and Ethan also each won a $50.00 gift certificate to Wal-Mart for selling at least $1500.00 worth.
Don’t forget to pick up your popcorn order on Sat. Nov. 10th between 11:00 am & 1:00 pm at the Methodist Church.

After our first week of popcorn sales Ethan Colbert from the Tiger Den sold the most to win one of our weekly prizes. Ethan sold $1095.00 worth of popcorn. I asked Ethan’s mom what inspired them to go door to door. She said the fact that only 20% of the population had been asked and that 7 out of 10 would buy popcorn. Some did say no, but that didn’t stop Ethan from continuing.
Great Job Ethan!
Here are our other scouts who also did an excellent job in salesmanship and were in the running for the week:
$682.00 - Christopher Webb
$515.00 - Jacob Bergstedt
$330.00 - Trysten Shackelford
$241.00 - Devin Cartwright
So far for the first week the pack total sales are $3225.00!!

Our first pack meeting for Cub Scout Pack 118 of Hoopeston will be on Thursday Sept. 20, 2007 at the Methodist Church at 7:00 pm. The theme is the “Cub Scout Express” as we welcome “All Aboard” to a new and exciting year of scouting! Look to see short skits and participate in fun games along with role playing. Plus we will also have our Popcorn Kickoff as popcorn fund raising sales begin early. We hope to make this our one and only fundraiser for the year.

Thirty years ago today, Voyager 1 was launched from Cape Canaveral, Fla., on a mission to investigate Jupiter and Saturn. It accomplished its mission, sending back photos and scientific data from the two planets, but the spacecraft didn’t stop there.Today, the spacecraft is still flying and still communicating with NASA, even though it is nearly 10 billion miles away and its transmissions take 14 hours to reach Earth. By 2015, Voyager 1 is expected to leave the solar system and scientists say it could wander the universe forever.
Attached to the side of Voyager 1 is a gold-plated phonograph record containing photos, natural sounds of Earth and 90 minutes of music from all over our world. If anyone finds Voyager during its eternal mission, the record should help them understand a little bit about life on Earth in 1977.

The lightsaber wielded by Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars movie will be launched into space aboard the shuttle Discovery later this year.
NASA is carrying the lightsaber into space to help celebrate this year’s 30th anniversary of Star Wars. The shuttle’s launch, which will carry seven astronauts to the International Space Station, is scheduled for Oct. 23.
